We collected insights from a variety of stakeholders to better understand the features, ergonomics and other characteristics that customers would look for in their locks.

Users felt Vertibolt should look bolder and sturdier considering the larger doors that new developments featured.

Audible

The internal mechanism, to many users sounded crude and lacked feedback and unrefined compared to competitors offerings.

Tactile

The product finish and no frills knob combined with the rough feeling mechanism made for a subpar tactile experience.

Packaging

Cardboard packaging lead to customers asking vendors to open the box to see contents, leading to damaged and difficult to sell packages.

Technical

Internal components needed to be updated, and additional features such as privacy feature or double throw locking would be competitive in the market.

We maintained our vision throughout the design process for Vertibolt. Sharp distinct lines dissipate into seamless surfaces that catch the light creating a blend of highlights and shadows throughout the day.

Feature Rich

Thoughtfully crafted, Vertibolt's design sets it apart yet allows it to blend into your home. It's simplicity is key to its reliability, longevity and efficiency.

Privacy feature

Complete Control

The privacy knob provides elevated access control to the user. Additionally, the privacy on/off indicator makes for quick and effortless reading.

11 mm Bolts

Enhanced Safety

The original vertibolt has kept thousands of homes safe from burglaries. Keeping in mind the longevity of use, we increased the bolt size to withstand break in attempts for generations to come.

Easy twist knob

Hassle free locking

After in-depth testing where we trialled 12 different knob designs, we proposed the easy to twist and ergonomically superior pinch style knob.

Packaging

Keeping in mind the valuable market insights provided by the vendors, we created the blister pack. It shows off the product on the shelves while protecting the product and its crucial components from the stressors of transport and shipping.
