A typical product design project follows the following phases within Design 360 approach:
We analyse the current competitive landscape and do ethnographic studies of our end users in their own context and conduct in-depth interviews to capture their pains and expected gains. This helps us define the persona of the target user which becomes the basis of design conceptualization.
Based on gathered insights from competition and user research, we do creative sketching sessions to come up with a variety of product concepts.
We believe that the real feel of the product comes only through its physical model. That’s why we believe in making models at every stage of the product development starting with foam models for form studies and ergonomics. Followed by POCs and functional models for testing. As the product form starts to get finalized, we make aesthetic models with real materials so they can be shown to end users, dealers and other stakeholders.
The devil is in the details. Our designers and engineers work hand in hand to translate the design concept into real world product while keeping the intent and integrity of the initial concept intact. This is an intense phase requiring knowledge of materials, processes as well as production and distribution.
