PCB Manufacturer & Designers Australia

Do you have a unique product idea in mind? Well, you can then rely on the PCB designers at Elemental Electronics. While we offer an ideal solution, we consider the purpose and the requirements. This is done way before commencing with the design process. It thus ensures that the product is designed cost-effectively.

PCB Design Services

Electronics hardware design services is where we started. Elemental Electronics was founded by Electronics Engineers who created advanced, reliable electronics for the automotive, medical and the general manufacturing industry.

Using cutting-edge software and measuring tools, wherever possible we simulate and test our designs. This allows our electronic hardware manufacturing company in Australia lower the risk in purchasing and manufacturing PCB’s (Printed Circuit Boards).

PCB Assembly

Our PCB Assembly line is designed to manufacture electronics and assembly PCBs efficiently whilst ensuring quality and reliability. The line is built inside a clean room within our facility and boasts a variety of manufacturing equipment.

Component Sourcing

Being an electronics manufacturer gives us additional leverage with component suppliers in both availability and pricing of electronic components. We also have a vast supplier directory which includes both local and offshore distributors.

PCB Pick and Place

Our Pick and Place machine can place components at a rate of up to 40,000 components per hour, all within a very high degree of accuracy. We also custom print 3D printed trays for low volume production runs and accept lose/cut tape components.

Reflow Soldering

For small production/electronic prototypes we have a vapour phase soldering machine which provides excellent solder quality and low temperatures. For larger volumes we also have a 16-zone hot air reflow machine.

Through-Hole Soldering

Most of our electronic designs have limited through hole soldering which we can complete by hand. For electronic products that contain more through hole components we utilise our robotic soldering machine.

2D Automatic Optical Inspection

2D inspection is critical to stop any potential issues such as missing solder paste, tombstoning, incorrect component placement or values. Our 2D AOI is the first line of defence against these issues and is used throughout the electronic manufacturing process.

X-Ray Inspection

High-density electronic products contain many pins hidden to the visible eye. Our in-house X-Ray inspection machine lets us see into circuit boards and components allow for greater quality control and troubleshooting.

Test Fixtures / ICT

Most of our electronic products go through an end-of-line testing procedure after manufacturing. Which includes a partial or full functional test as well as laser marking for traceability and quality assurance.

Low Volume Manufacturing

Our electronics manufacturing line can build low volume products and we accept cut tape/loose components. The line is also used to manufacture prototypes from both in-house and externally designed electronics.

Quality Control

Electronics products manufactured in Melbourne at Elemental Electronics are all individually laser marked and documented, this allows for greater quality control and assurance.

Our Complete PCB Process

Our streamlined PCB manufacturing process ensures a smooth, transparent, and high-quality experience from design to delivery.  How our end-to-end procedure works:

Requirement gathering/consultation

We start by understanding your technical specs, usage, and performance needs to make the PCB consistent with your  production goals.

PCB Engineering Review/Design

A Design for Manufacturability (DFM) audit by our engineers reduces errors in schematics and layouts.  “Allowing for production grade, error-free designs”.

Material Acquisition

To ensure PCB strength, signal integrity, and lifespan, we use only high-quality, industry-approved raw PCBs from trusted vendors.

Prototyping

Prior to production manufacturing, quick prototypes can be made that lets you test first batch samples early. Performance checks and optimisations are done here.

With Fabrication and Assembly

We accurately build SMT, through-hole, and mixed-technology PCBs with modern equipment. Each board undergoes AOI and in-circuit testing.

Testing & Quality Control

All PCBs are inspected, functionally tested, and conformity tested to Australian and international quality standards (IPC-A-600, ISO 9001).

Packaging, shipping

We box your boards carefully to avoid damage and dispatch quickly for local or global use.

Production Equipment

We implement the latest technologies into our electronics to design and develop products

Juki RS-1R

The centre of our electronic manufacturing production line is our Juki RS-1R, which can place electronic components at a rate of 40,000 components per hour.

PBT Stencil Printer

This semi-automated stencil printer is excellent for low/medium volume manufacturing as it allows for a very fast changeover and setup. The on-board vision system allows for easy alignment.

Nordson X-Ray

Our X-Ray inspection system can seamlessly see through PCBs and electronic components, allowing us to inspect and ensure a high level of quality throughout our manufactured products.

Asscon Vapor Phase

In our opinion vapor phase is a the best method of soldering, it allows for soldering at lower temperatures whilst having excellent wettability. This machine is our go-to for most applications.

Laser Marking

Our purpose build laser marking system paired with our internal QMS enables us to mark and trace every single printed circuit board assembly that we manufacture. A list of these codes is also provided on delivery.

16 Zone Reflow Oven

For larger production runs our 16-zone lead free reflow oven allows for fast hot air soldering. This machine also is routinely calibrated to ensure an optimal solder profile is met.
