Struggling To Hear Background Noise With Your Current Hearing Aids?

This is often because most NHS hearing aids have very minimal noise reduction capacity often leading to patients picking up too much ambient noise. Noise reduction capability is just one of the many features the top manufacturers provide to help overcome noisy environments.

We are absolute experts in providing ear cleaning in Sutton Coldfield. As part of the earwaxspecialist.co.uk ltd group at this site.

Endoscopic microsuction is a dry, targeted technique that avoids syringing/irrigation – ideal for perforations, infections, or after ear surgery (subject to clinical assessment).

We’ll show you a before/after view of the ear canal so you can see the difference right away.

For complex cases (impacted wax, narrow canals), we combine micro‑instruments with magnified visualisation for a comfortable, painless experience.

Quite simply, Microsuction is a process which uses gentle medical suction and endoscopic microscopes to gently remove ear wax from the ear canal. We use medical-grade single-use disposable instruments to gently remove any cerumen in the ear canal. This allows us to remove ear wax even if it has been pushed against the eardrum which most high street providers cannot remove as it is deemed a non routine procedure. Our Earwax removal practitioners have been ENT trained to remove ear wax even if it is non routine preventing the need for onward ENT referral for even the most difficult cases.

We also provide full diagnostic testing capabilities. We can provide ENT-level diagnostic testing to diagnose most ear-related pathologies. As a company, we can now remove wax 90% of the time during your first visit without the need for prolonged use with olive oil or drops.

I visited the clinic and was seen by Danish, who was kind, professional, and reassuring. He took around 30 minutes to safely remove a troublesome wax blockage from my left ear using micro-suction. The procedure was quick, painless, and surprisingly satisfying. Exceptional service - highly recommended!

I booked in for a ear wax removal after 2- 3 weeks of blocked ears. I arrived to the clinic today and seen practitioner Aamna who checked my ears and determined my ears were not blocked by a build up of wax. I was given a otovent kit to try help me hear properly again. I just arrived home and tried it and it has worked a treat!! I now can hear everything crystal clear after 2 weeks of hearing virtually nothing. Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone 😀

I saw Danish at such short notice, he was lovely and reassuring, and worked for around half an hour to remove a plug of wax which caused me hearing loss and much discomfort. To start off I sat in the chair and Danish showed me inside my ears on a big screen in front of me, and it was nice after the procedure to be shown that they were completely clear of wax. I had micro suction and irrigation to remove the wax, both of which were completely painless and some what a satisfying feeling. I would highly recommend this clinic, they are very professional and helpful and definitely visit again in the future. Their online booking procedure is handy and even when I called about booking the receptionist was very helpful and kind. Top service, thank you!

Ear Wax Removal Sutton Coldfield – FAQs

Most appointments take around 15–30 minutes, which includes ear health check and individual aftercare advice. We’ll make sure you’re comfortable and know what to expect along the way.

No, microsuction is a gentle, safe, and accurate technique. Most people find instant comfort and clearer hearing right after the treatment.

Usually not. If you have heavier or compacted ear wax a few drops of softening drops used for 1–2 days before your appointment will make it even more comfortable.

Yes, microsuction is a non-invasive dry method, so it is suitable for most patients, including those with hearing aids or previous perforations. The clinicians will assess your ear health and provide you with the safest method.

Micro suction ear wax removal is the gold standard of ear wax removal. It offers a safer and more gentle way to remove ear wax than traditional irrigation methods. The technique involves using a endoscopic microscope or TTL surgical loupes and a medical suction aspirator with a suction pen.The procedure is quick and painless, it can take as little as a few minutes to extract the ear wax safely from the ear canal.

The endoscopic microsuction procedure is only performed by experienced ENT audiologists with decades of experience with the microsuction procedure. This is vitally important as most cases coming in to clinic are very difficult where quite often ear wax is being removed from the eardrum itself. It requires significant experience to remove ear wax at this depth with out causing discomfort to the patient

Although micro-suction requires very little intervention we always advise a few drops of olive oil in the ear to help soften the wax. We often find the softer the wax the easier it is to remove out of the ear. However in saying that the over use of drops can turn the wax in to a viscous sticky liquid in the ear which can slide on to the eardrum so try not to use drops excessively.

We would recommend olive oil drops for 1-2 days or Otex but this is dependant very much on an individual to individual basis

Some patients have very sticky glutenous wax which can be very difficult to remove especially if it has moved on to the eardrum. In these cases we sometimes have to use water irrigation as it is the safest of the procedures to remove wax residue of the eardrum. We will always choose the most appropriate method.

We also provide water irrigation for the ears. For some patients microsuction is not always stable especially when dealing with particularly soft wax as a consequence of over use of drops. In such cases we use the irrigation method which involves the controlled pressure of water at body temperature in the ear in order to remove stubborn deposits of wax which deposit themselves on th eardrum. Your clinician will determine which would be the better procedure on the day of the appointment

We see childrens above the age of 5 years old. The procedure is performed only by our most experienced audiologists within the team. The reason being primarily because childrens ear canals are significantly smaller in length and diameter then a adult ear canal.

The procedure we undertake uses endoscopic microscopes to gently extract ear wax from the ear canal.

Ear wax removal drops usually peroxide based including name brands like Otex and Sodium bicarbonate drops are great for breaking down hard abrasive wax in the ear ready for ear wax removal. In some instances they can break down wax sufficiently to the extent were by earwax removal may not be required as the wax has sufficiently dissolved, however we find that this in most cases depends on the size of the cavity. We usually deal with a lot of cases were by the wax has turned in to a semi liquid which slides down the ear canal and settles on the drum completely sealing the canal. and causing complete deafness, our advise is to use drops for 2-3 days before coming in for an earwax removal

A ear wax removal procedure for an experienced practitioner should not take longer then 5-10 minutes.

It is if vital importance that you limit the time you spend in the ear canal due to the risk factors associated with tinnitus or vertigo the longer you are in a ear canal.

We often get told by patients that the procedure seemed a lot quicker then expected? The reasons for this are the side effects associated with remaining in the canal longer then required.

We always advice a qualified Audiologist or a practitioner nurse with experience in ear nose and throat. Any other practitioner with a background not in Audiology simply wont have the experience to deal with complex difficult cases and you usually want a audiologist with 100’s of ear wax removal procedures under their belt. We say this because unfortunately due to the unregulated nature of the training you could potentially be having a invasive procedure undertaken by a non audiologist with no previous experience in audiological medicine.

The procedure is always shown to you live so you can watch your practitioner effectively remove the ear wax from your ears. You are always shown a before and after shot to give you the peace of mind that the procedure has been effective?

A common complaint we hear is that patients have had a bad experience with a previous procedure. We use endoscopic cameras ensuring that we do not touch any of the lateral canal walls or the very sensitive bony canal in the last third of the cavity. This often is a reason why patients feel uncomfortable as the bony canal is very sensitive. The use of endoscopes allows us to remove wax without touching the delicate and sensitive canal walls making the procedure painless and also quick.

We provide comprehensive hearing assessments to test you ears after the micro-suction procedure.

We often find most patients have significant age related hearing loss as an underlying issue which is then significantly exacerbated by impacted ear wax.

We can test your hearing and provide a suitable hearing solution and management with hearing aids if required. All our hearing assessments are free of charge and we also provide every patient with a free hearing aid trial to assess their acoustic compatibility with bespoke hearing aids.
